Responsible digital technology for more sustainable territories
Enova in Labège – Source: SICOVAL 2024
Communication infrastructures are undergoing spectacular technological advances. At a time of climate emergency, they must meet the requirements of digital sobriety, decarbonisation and recycling/reuse of materials.
How can sustainable development drive innovation? What choices need to be made? How can the carbon footprint be reduced? Which infrastructures can be reused? How can the equipment lifecycle, up to recycling, be better integrated?
This conference provides concrete answers from the field, whether in energy, lighting, smart buildings, video and wireless transmission systems, or waste treatment and recycling, etc.
The event is organised by the SICOVAL conurbation (36 municipalities south-east of Toulouse) in partnership with Haute-Garonne Numérique and the independent NGO EG4U, with the participation of the European Commission and the European standardisation organisation ETSI (Sophia Antipolis).
Main themes of the day:
– Innovating in our local authorities by adopting sustainable solutions (SICOVAL testimonials)
– Getting up to date on European standardisation
– Applying interoperability, a lever of sovereignty, through open protocols (including OpendthX)
– Reducing the environmental footprint of buildings and infrastructures
– Managing waste more efficiently.
